Description

This Cizhou ware black-ground white sgraffito plum vase features a well-proportioned and elegant silhouette typical of the meiping form. The vase has a small mouth, short neck, gently sloping shoulders, a full body tapering toward the base, and a ring foot.

The decoration is executed using the sgraffito technique. After applying a white slip or glaze, the areas surrounding the motifs were carved away, exposing the darker ceramic body beneath. The raised white designs stand in strong contrast against the dark ground, creating a distinctive white-on-dark-ground visual effect. A band of stylized lotus-petal motifs encircles the shoulder, while the main body is densely carved with scrolling peony patterns. Incised bands near the foot further structure the decorative composition.

The carving is confident and fluid, with rhythmic lines and a strong sense of movement. Combining sculptural form with expressive surface decoration, this vase exemplifies the decorative language of Cizhou ware, where bold contrast and dynamic carving transform functional ceramics into visually compelling works.

此件磁州窑黑地白花剔花牡丹纹梅瓶，造型端庄挺拔。瓶为小口，短颈，溜肩，肩部圆润，腹部饱满而下部渐敛，承以圈足，整体比例协调，线条流畅，具有典型梅瓶的造型特征。

瓶身装饰采用剔花工艺。在施白釉后，以刀刻方式剔除纹样之外的部分，使花纹凸起于器表，其余区域露出深色胎地，形成鲜明的黑地白花视觉效果。肩部刻饰变形莲瓣纹一周，腹部通体剔刻缠枝牡丹纹，枝叶翻卷，花朵层层展开，布局繁而不乱。腹下及足部以线刻纹带分隔，使整体装饰层次分明。

整器刀法稳健有力，线条流畅自然，白色花纹与深色地子形成强烈对比，呈现出近似浅浮雕的艺术效果。作品兼具民窑器物的质朴气息与高度装饰性的视觉张力，是磁州窑体系中极具代表性的黑地白花剔花梅瓶式样。
